DROWNING POOL, FEAR FACTORY, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Among Week's Top Hard Rock Debuts
April 28, 2004DROWNING POOL's sophomore album, "Desensitized", sold 42,425 copies during its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to debut at position No. 17 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. FEAR FACTORY's "Archetype", the group's first CD since the departure of founding member Dino Cazares and their first album for new label Liquid 8 Records, shifted 31,898 copies to land at No. 30. Meanwhile, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's "Hangover Music Vol. VI" sold 24,345 in its first week of release to debut at No. 40, while MACHINE HEAD's "Through the Ashes of Empires" — an album that has been available on import since late October — registered a first-week sales tally of 11,420, around a thousand copies more than its predecessor, "Supercharger", did back in October 2001.
